Xiaomi began their MWC 2019 campaign with two fresh launches- Mi Mix 3 5G Variant and the new flagship Mi 9. The Chinese smartphone manufacturer joined the likes of Huawei, Samsung, and Oppo who have already revealed 5G handsets. However, Xiaomi has taken one step ahead by being the first-ever smartphone company to reveal the availability and price of its 5G-ready smartphone.
Xiaomi Mi Mix 3-5G and Mi 9 Prices and Availability
The Beijing-headquartered company said that Mi Mix 3 5G variant will carry a price tag of 599 Euros (roughly Rs 48,000). One other change in the smartphone other than an X50 5G-ready modem is the addition of Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 855 chipset. All other specs are similar. Originally released in October 2018, the Mi Mix 3 5G pre-orders are already on and devices will be first shipped in the European market by 28 February.
Whereas, the new Xiaomi Mi 9 is priced at 449 Euros (Rs 36,000 approximately) for 64GB storage model and 499 Euros (Rs 40,000 approximately) and is available currently in China and Spain only. There are no launch details revealed about other markets right now.
Xiaomi Mi Mix 3-5G Specifications
Xiaomi first launched Mi Mix 3 in October 2018 for 3,299 Yuan in China which is approximately Rs 34,800. Upgrading their budget flagship again, the smartphone manufacturer from China released 5G variant with 6.39-inch Super AMOLED display with 2340*1080 pixels of resolution and Gorilla Glass 5 protection. The new device has flagship level Snapdragon 855 chipset and X50 modem. Notably, the previous variant without 5G modem runs on Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC.
The smartphone has a dual camera set up at both the back as well as the front. The rear end has a 12MP wide-angle sensor and a 12MP telephoto lens whereas the front of the device sports 24MP and 2MP shooters. Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 5G is a bezel-less smartphone with a slider mechanism for the selfie shooters at the front. It gets juice from a 3,200mAh battery and runs Android 9 Pie on the top of MiUi 10.
Xiaomi Mi 9 Specifications
Xiaomi also launched its new Android flagship device touted the Mi 9 at MWC 2019 event. Featuring a 6.39-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display with 90.7 percent of screen-body-ratio, the smartphone is a premium-looking device. Powered by the similar flagship Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 chipset, it has 6GB of RAM along with 64GB or 128 GB of internal storage. It also has an in-display fingerprint sensor for device unlocking.
Running on a battery of 3,300mAh supporting 27W fast charging technology, the phone also produces 20W super-fast wireless charging. The imaging department is handled by a triple camera set up at the back including a 48MP shooter, a 16MP wide-angle lens, and a 12MP 2x telephoto sensor. The front end holds a 20MP selfie snapper mounted on a waterdrop-style notch.
