Just before the launch, Manu Kumar, Xiaomi India Chief tweeted that the phone will be launching in India by next week and also released a teaser. So as per his latest tweet, it has been officially confirmed that Redmi 8 will be launching in India by next week. Having said that the name of the phone which has been teased has not been mentioned. The teaser was showing “number 8” through which we can definitely confirm that it’s all about Redmi 8.
In that particular teaser video, the particular smartphone was seen in Red color along with more than one camera situated in the back panel. These cameras are placed on the back strap on the red colored rear panel. Apart from that, the video did not reveal any other details. Having said that we are expecting this phone to be the upgraded version to its predecessor that is Redmi 7. Along with that we also have to admit the fact that India is going to be the first country where people will be getting Redmi 8 which is quite similar to Redmi 8A. Redmi 8A was launched in the country on September 29 and this newly launched mobile is the upgraded version of the Redmi 7A. This phone is featured with a stylish design, better quality cameras, good battery and lots more.
Coming forward to the Redmi 8 which is the upcoming phone of the China-based company, the phone passed through TENAA as well as China’s Telecom’s website a few days ago where everyone got to see renders as well as some important specifications about this budget-friendly phone. In the teaser, the dual rear camera set up was located in a vertical orientation. Not only this but the glimpse also pointed out that the phone will be featuring a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner.
Price of Redmi 8 in India
Xiaomi has always kept the budget-friendly phones in the target, though all its smartphones are affordable as compared to the other brands. However, the China-based company is coming to India at the same pricing as its predecessors. We are expecting the starting price of the Redmi 8 will be under Rs 8,000 and it may also go up till Rs 10,000 but not more than that. The basic model of Redmi 8 which will be having 3GB RAM, as well as 32GB internal storage, is expected to be priced at Rs 7,999.
When it comes to the pricing in India, the leaks of the listings revealed that Redmi 8 will be priced CNY 1,600 which is Rs 16,000 in Indian currency. But we did not find this information appropriate. The price of Redmi 8 in India is going to be very competitive and this particular phone is going to challenge Asus Max M2 as well as Realme 3i in the segment.

Coming to the screen design, the phone will be having thin bezels on the sides but the chin will be flat.
