Holi is a festival of colours and everyone wants to capture all moments of joy and happiness with their smartphones. But be careful, first, you should know whether your phone can handle water or not? The water potentially damages the smartphone unless your smartphone is not waterproof and all smartphones are not waterproof. Most smartphones like Xiamoi can survive splashes while some can even withstand the water if they are accidentally dropped in a  bucket of water. There are several smartphones available in the country that come with IP67 or IP68 rating. These are many international ratings that determine the resistance provided an electrical device to water. The smartphones with an IP68 rating can withstand water up to a maximum depth of 1.5m underwater for up to 30 minutes. The IP67 rating means that the smartphone can withstand water up to 1 meter deep for half an hour. Here’s a list of smartphones that can survive underwater while that can not:

Smartphones That Can Survive Under Water:

  • ​Apple iPhone 11 Series:

Apple iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Max Pro was launched in the last year and come with an IP68 rating. So, these devices are water-resistant and also dust and dirt resistant. The iPhone 11 series phones can withstand water up to 2 meters if they are submerged underwater for up to 30 minutes.

  • ​Apple iPhone XS Series:

iPhone XR, iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max also come up with IP68 specified rating that means that these devices are water-resistant and also dust resistant. So, these devices are safe if you want to use them on Holi. These devices too can withstand submersion in water up to 2 meters for 30 minutes.

  • ​Apple iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus:

  • ​Samsung Galaxy S20 Series:

Samsung’s brand all top-end smartphones like Galaxy S20 series phones, come up with strong ‘water-proofing’ abilities. Samsung Galaxy S20, Galaxy S20 Plus and Galaxy S20 Ultra come up with IP68 rating which means that they can survive underwater if they are unknowingly submerged underwater for up to 1.5 meters for 30 minutes.

  • ​Nokia 9 PureView:

Nokia 9 Pureview smartphone have Penta cameras and have with an IP68 rating. So, this device is totally waterproof and you use this smartphone to capture moments during your holy celebration.

  • Can OnePlus phones Survive Water?

OnePlus claims that their smartphones are waterproof but the Oneplus smartphones do not come with any specified IP rating. The brand said that their smartphones have the same level of water-proof rating as IP67 but their official IP rating is missing. So, no one is sure that OnePlus phones can survive underwater.

Smartphones That Can’t Survive Under Water:

  • ​Nokia 6.2 and 7.2:

Both Nokia 6.2 and Nokia 7.2 do not have any specified IP rating. So, if you have any of the smartphones then be careful before using them while playing with water during Holi.

  • ​Samsung Galaxy A10s and Galaxy A20s:

Both Galaxy A10s and Galaxy 20s do not have any specified IP rating. So, they are not water-resistant. So, be careful before using these smartphones while playing with water this Holi.

  • ​Samsung Galaxy M10 and M20:

Samsung’s Galaxy M10 and M20 phones also don’t have any official IP rating. So, the people having these smartphones need to be more careful while playing Holi.

  • ​Xiaomi Smartphones

The Xiaomi smartphones come up with P2i rating. This means that Xiaomi smartphones are splash-proof but not waterproof. These phones can resist a splash of water but can’t survive underwater.

  • ​Oppo Smartphones:

Oppo smartphones don’t come with any IP rating just Xiaomi and they also are not splash-proof. So, the owners should not use these smartphones while playing Holi.

​Vivo:

Vivo smartphones don’t come with any IP rating just Xiaomi and Oppo and they also are not splash-proof. So, the owners should not use these smartphones while playing Holi.
