The South Korean smartphone giant Samsung may launch a new fitness band in India soon. The company released the teaser on the Indian e-commerce website Flipkart for those who don’t know Samsung currently has two wearable smart fitness bands including Gear Sport and Gear Fit2 Pro in their existing lineup.
A banner of Flipkart read ‘Get Ready to Get Fit’ on Flipkart. However, the banner does not contain any device name.
Apart from the new fitness band news, the company also released its new device Galaxy M40 in the country priced at Rs 16,990. The device is advertised with a tagline of ‘Screen Sound’ technology. According to the company, the smartphone comes without an earpiece and the entire screen acts as a hearing device. Using this new tech, you can place the smartphone in any direction while on a call.
Powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 675 octa-core processor clocking at 2GHz, the device also has Adreno 612 GPU to enhance graphical performance. Galaxy M40 will be the first device in the Galaxy M series to feature a Qualcomm Snapdragon processor since all other devices in the lineup including Galaxy M10, M20, and M30 sport Samsung-manufactured Exynos chipsets.
Furthermore, the smartphone runs Android 9 Pie out-of-the-box with OneUI handling the interface. With a Snapdragon processor, handset packs 6GB RAM and 128GB internal storage which can further go up to 512GB with a microSD card. Though the smartphone has a dual-SIM setup, it comes with one hybrid sim slot, which means you can either use a microSD card or a nano SIM.
Samsung Galaxy M40 flaunts a beautiful 6.3-inch FHD+ Infinity-O panel and gets juice from a 3500mAh battery. It is released in two color options including Seawater Blue and Midnight Blue. While it was initially launched on flash sale, Samsung recently announced an open sale for the smartphone.
With Xiaomi releasing its Mi Band 4 later this year, Samsung is also eyeing to release its own fitness band to keep the competition in the market. With the teaser released on the e-commerce site Flipkart, we can soon expect the South Korean smartphone company to announce the device.
