After a number of leaks and teasers, Realme has finally confirmed the launch of Realme X. According to an announcement from the official Realme Weibo handle, the company will be releasing the smartphone in an upcoming event in Beijing on May 15. While people are more excited about the Realme X Youth Edition, there are speculations that its nothing but Realme 3 Pro with a different name. The announcement also stated that the new device will be entering only the Chinese market for now. Realme also confirmed that the device is up for registrations via top e-commerce platforms of China including a freebie for all the early adopters.

The announcement on the official Realme Weibo handle confirmed that the Realme X will release in China, which will also mark the debut of the former Oppo subsidiary in the Chinese market. All the users looking to buy the device can register for it on e-commerce platforms such as Suning and JD.com. The company is offering free Realme headphones to the first 100 people to register for the new flagship from Realme. However, the official announcement does not reveal anything about either the Realme X Lite or the Realme X Youth Edition, which is reportedly just a rebranded Relame 3 Pro. The Youth Edition or you can say rumored Realme 3 Pro was spotted on TENNA recently alongside Realme X. However, the product page for only Realme X has gone live on JD.com and there is still no news about the launch of the Realme X Youth Edition.

Realme X Specifications (expected)

Recent leaks have given many things about the smartphone. The device will reportedly get power from the Snapdragon 730 SoC along with two RAM options of 6GB and 8GB. There is another phone tipped to be released as Realme X Pro with Snapdragon 855 chipset This device will likely come in three variants of 6GB plus 64GB storage, 6GB plus 128GB internal, and 8GB plus 128GB inbuilt storage. It will feature an in-display fingerprint sensor over a Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protected screen. Though, there is no news about the size or type of display.

In the camera department, rumors are that Realme X will feature a 48MP rear camera alongside a 5MP depth sensor. The smartphone is also tipped to support Oppo’s popular VOOC 3.0 fast charging.

Realme X Prices (expected)

The smartphone will arrive in three configurations including a 6GB RAM + 64GB storage variant, a 6GB RAM + 128GB storage variant, and an 8GB RAM + 128GB storage version with tipped prices of CNY 1,599 (about Rs. 16,500),  CNY 1,799 (about Rs. 18,500), and CNY 1,999 (about Rs. 20,600) respectively.
