HMD Global has added another smartphone to its portfolio Nokia X71 with a punch-hole display. The new Nokia X71 is also rumored to launch as either Nokia 6.2 or Nokia 8.1 Plus globally.
Launched initially in Taiwan, the new Nokia X71 is expected to release globally soon. While the device gives a premium feel with a glass and metal design, it has got mid-range specifications including Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 chipset, 48MP triple camera setup, and more.
It is still unknown whether the device will be called Nokia 8.1 or Nokia 6.2 but as the hardware and pricing are considered, this new smartphone falls right below the Nokia 8.1. HMD Global is yet to launch it everywhere else, but rumors are that the company will be releasing this device globally along with Indian market by 5 April. However, we have the full specification list with price details of Nokia X71 for you.

Nokia X71 features
The design of Nokia X71 is getting the biggest update as this will be the first HMD Global device to have a punch-hole display for the selfie camera. Notably, this type of display has been made popular by the likes of Samsung Galaxy S10 and Honor View 20. With a 6.39-inch display housing a punch-hole, the screen-to-body ratio goes to a staggering 93 percent.
HMD Global has been utilizing its PureDisplay screen technology quite well for a high-contrast, sharp, and enhanced color reproduction. Over that, this smartphone also gets HDR10 video playback for an immersive viewing experience.
Another HMD-exclusive feature is an LED power button that the company introduced earlier this year on Nokia 3.2 and Nokia 4.2 smartphones. The power button will shine white in case you have an unread message or a missed call.
Though HMD Global hasn’t mentioned anywhere, we assume that the 48MP lens in triple camera setup will be housing a Sony’s IMX586 sensor or a Samsung GM1 sensor.
Even if it doesn’t, you can still except detailed and crisp shots considering the reputation Nokia holds in the camera department.
Under the hood comes the tried and trusted Snapdragon 660 AIE octa-core processor with 14nm technology. The 6GB RAM coupled with 128GB internal storage runs Android 9 Pie out-of-the-box. However, the international launch of the device can see the Android One branding with stock Android Pie on it.
Nokia X71 price and availability
The Nokia X71 is priced at NTD 11,990 in Taiwan which translates to Rs 26,900 roughly. Interestingly, this is the price of Nokia 8.1 in India which makes us even more sure about this device being the Nokia 8.1 Plus. The Nokia 7.1 is currently under registration in Taiwan and will go on sale starting April 10. As mentioned earlier, we are still to get a global release date from HMD Global for Nokia X71.
Summary: Nokia X71 is another smartphone from HMD Global that will take on the mid-range premium devices section, which recently has been the busiest one in the smartphone markets around the globe, and especially in the big smartphone markets such as India.
