The rumors of HMD Global releasing a Penta-camera smartphone named Nokia 9 have been going around from quite a while. The year-end is here and Nokia followers were expecting HMD Global to release the Nokia 9 in the recently held event. Two of the best smartphone companies Samsung and Huawei have already crossed the dual-camera bar and tech experts were expecting a Penta-camera setup phone from HMD Global. A new leaked photograph supposedly of Nokia 9 has again raised hopes and reports are coming that the Nokia flagship device will likely not debut this year but next year at MWC.
At this time, we are pretty much sure that the phone will have some unique design alterations with a leading talk about not triple, not four, but a penta-lens setup on the rear side.
Expected Designed for Nokia 9
Some supposed leaks coming from @OnLeaks from Twitter, partnered with 91mobiles and is known for reliable leaks mostly, has provided a 360-degree video and selection of renders (some in 5K). Supposed leaked Nokia 9 images show a hexagonal Penta-camera setup along with an extra proximity sensor and a dual-tone flash. Supposedly HMD Global will feature Zeiss lenses and a nostalgic ‘PureView’ nod in the branding.
The rendered video pictured a Nokia smartphone with a front notch. Along with that unique but still attractive Penta-camera setup, the smartphone has a metal frame and the rear panel is curved towards the edges.
Zeiss optics and PureView branding will be enough to earn customer trust in the smartphone. Experts are anticipating at least a mixture of one depth-sensing lens, one telephoto snapper, one ultra-wide camera and one regular setup in this five-camera setup though there are endless combinations. This will be a shot on the recently released Samsung Galaxy A9 that sports a quad-camera setup at the rear. Similar to most Nokia devices including the Nokia 8 Sirocco, this one is also expected to get a glass panel.
Expected Specifications for Nokia 9
The HMD Global device is likely to keep their Android flagship device below the 6-inch display, with a 5.9-inch QHD panel featuring 18:9 aspect ratio and the newest smartphone trend- in-display fingerprint sensor. This is supposedly going to be HMD Global’s first device to feature a Qualcomm chip. The Penta-lens featuring smartphone is likely to get either the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC (currently featured in most of the Android flagship devices or the next generation Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 aka Snapdragon 8150 processor.
The device will come with Android 9 Pie out-of-the-box with Android One program that ensures regular security updates over stock Android software. Other rumors include an 8GB RAM with up to 128 Gigs of internal storage support and a big 4,150 mAh of bank powering up the device. The rendered images had a worrying revelation of the absence of 3.5mm headphone jack which will upset many music lovers who still do not rely on wireless audio devices.
The rumored 2019 launch of Nokia 9 will be the world’s first meeting with a five-camera smartphone. There are no hints of the price bar whatsoever but with if these specifications are to be believed, we might witness a high-end device competing with the likes of Huawei Mate Pro, Google Pixels, and Apple iPhones.
