HMD Global officially launched its new Nokia 7.1 Android smartphone yesterday. The much-awaited mid-range smartphone is ready to impress Nokia users with offering a decent update over its predecessor Nokia 7. However, it still lags behind the February 2018 released Nokia 7 Plus on paper. It is a decent device with a quite beautiful build and Android One (Android 8.2 Oreo out-of-the-box with an update to Android 9 Pie coming this November) with a price tag that will not hurt your pockets.

Nokia 7.1 Launched: Here are the specs

The new Android-based smartphone offers a full HD+ display along with a Snapdragon 635 chipset. A definite mid-ranger, this phone comes in two storage variants. First sports a 3 GB RAM and 32GB of internal storage while other comes with a 4GB RAM and 64GB of internal storage. Another highly appreciated thing is an option to expand your memory through a micro SD card up to 400GB Finnish giant has kept the display with an aspect ratio of 19:9 and a resolution of 2280 x 1080 pixels. There is an HDR support and HMD Global have also used the PureDisplay, which most companies keep for their higher-end smartphones.

Talking about its performance, the Nokia 7.1 holds an Adreno 509 GPU and when that is coupled with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon, it definitely works flawlessly. It works with an Octa-Core Kyro 260 CPU clocking at 1.8GHz. One better thing about Nokia 7.1 is the headphone jack.

Camera

Nokia 7.1 camera

HMD Global knows that people nowadays don’t like to buy a new camera every now and then. So they brought Nokia 7.1 that holds Zeiss Optics. The phone back holds two shooters, one of 12MP and other one 5MP with depth sensors. There is an 8MP front sensor too for beautiful selfies. One of the best features from Camera comes with the name Bothie. The function allows users to record from the front as well as the back camera.

Operating System and Battery

A 3060 mAh battery brings life to the smartphone. Though it is less than most of the mid-range smartphones, it still offers an impressive 19.5 hours talk time. The phone interacts with users through Android 8 Oreo but is promised to get the Android 9 Pie update as soon as it’s launched in November.
