Good news for Nokia Fans. HMD Global launched the Nokia 5.1 Plus in India and set to be released on 1st October. The budget phone with Android One ( Variant of Android 8.1 Oreo ) and decent specifications is priced at $151 (INR 10,999).
The Nokia 5.1 Plus is a lightweight phone but it does have solid enough specs to play some relatively high-intensity games. Considering how cheap the device is, this is a welcome development. The new Nokia device comes with a 5.8-inch LCD Display. A 2.5D curvature glass covers the front and back of the device. It gives a polished look because of glossy finish on the sides. However, the 1520×720 resolution might get in your way of the full Android experience.
The Nokia 5.1 Plus gets a Helio P60 processor which is a very capable affordable chipset. The Octa-core processor can deliver up to 1.8 GHz of speed. This is coupled with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of phone storage, which is expandable with MicroSD Card up to 400GB which should get the job done but it may not be a multitasking beast. As for the battery, the device has a 3,060mAh battery, but it only supports 10W charging.
Nokia 5.1 Plus launched with dual cameras on the back with a 13-megapixel primary camera with PDAF and f/2.0 aperture and a 5-megapixel secondary camera for depth of field photos. Up front, the phone houses an 8-megapixel camera within the notch with f/2.2 aperture and support for AI face unlock.
The phone comes with glass on the front and back that looks glossy and reflective, making it stand out among a crowd of plastic and metal phones. It will be offered in Black, White and Blue colors. The phone is also quite compact and lightweight, making it easy for one-handed use. A rear-mounted fingerprint sensor can also be seen on the back, which isn’t the easiest to reach due to the compact shape of the phone.
Nokia 5.1 Plus is available exclusively on Flipkart and Nokia online e-store for Indian users for preordering. The device will go on sale from October 1st. Airtel carrier network users in India can avail cashback and free data over 12 months on different recharge plans
