Meizu has launched its new smartphone in China starting at RMB 1,698 (roughly Rs 17,100). The new Meizu 16Xs comes was launched in two storage variants targeted at the mid-range segment of China with one 64GB and one 128GB model. The high-end device with 6GB RAM and 128GB ROM comes with a price tag of RMB 1,998 that roughly translates to Rs 20,180. The new smartphone is probably a toned down version of the last year’s release Meizu 16X. Offered in four color variants including Coral Orange, Blue, Midnight Black, and Silk White, the Meizu 16Xs will go on sale starting 10 June via Meizu official website, JD.com, Meizu Tmall official flagship store, and other e-commerce stores in China.
Meizu 16Xs Specifications
The new smartphone from the Chinese smartphone manufacturer sports a 6.2-inch full HD+ AMOLED display with 1080 x 2232 pixels of resolution and 90.29 percent screen-to-body ratio. The device display will offer a good performance while watching videos with an almost all-screen design. With very thin bezels around, the mid-range handset comes with Qualcomm Snapdragon 675 chipset with 6GB of RAM and two storage options including 64GB and 128GB.
The imaging department of the device holds a triple-camera setup at the rear end including a 48MP primary lens with Samsung ISOCELL Bright GM1 sensor and f/1.7 aperture, a 5MP secondary depth sensor, and an 8MP sensor with f/2.2 aperture. The selfie lovers are also getting a 16MP shooter at the front with f/2.2 aperture lens. The front and back cameras also support facial recognition.

Meizu 16Xs will run Android 9.0 Pie out of the box with Flyme skin on it, which is developed by Meizu itself. The smartphone is backed up by a big 4,000mAh battery that supports fast charging and comes with an 18W charger. The latest Meizu device also hosts a number of connectivity techs including VoLTE, Dual SIM, GPS, Bluetooth, A-GPS with GLONASS. It also hosts a Type C-port and weighs 165 grams in total.
Some other highlights of the smartphone include an in-display fingerprint sensor that is reportedly the Super mTouch screen fingerprint recognition tech which claims to unlock the device in 0.2 seconds. An added advantage that every other user looks in smartphones nowadays is a gaming mode. The Hyper Gaming technology proposes a better gaming experience in Meizu 16Xs.
