LG to Compete in Budget Segment With New W Series Phones

LG W Series to Compete With Xiaomi and Samsung Galaxy M Series in India

According to the report from The Times of India, the upcoming LG W series will compete with the popular budget smartphone brands in India including Realme, Xiaomi, and Samsung Galaxy M series. Additionally, LG is not eyeing to launch a single device but the company is eyeing to launch several budget smartphones to cover all the budget market starting from 10K to under 20K. Reports claim that the LG W series will start from the 10K INR in the Indian market. Similar to any other budget smartphone, LG will also sell the new W series only via e-commerce stores. We all know that LG has failed to excite budget smartphone consumers in India before, but as the current smartphone market looks, we can say that new LG devices will be promising with a brand value to it.

Since the ‘Notify Me’ page is live on Amazon.in for the LG W smartphone series, it is clear that the South Korean tech giant has decided to sell its India-centric smartphones exclusively on Amazon. The landing page quotes that the LG W series will be ‘worth the wait’. The landing page casts some light on the features of the first LG W smartphone. According to it, the new smartphone from the W series will have an AI-enabled triple camera set up at the back with features such as Portrait Mode, Bokeh Mode, and a Night Mode for low-light photography. The device will have wide-angle capabilities but it is not clear if that, unlike other devices in this range, will work in the Night Mode as well or not.

We are yet to be delivered with the display size or resolution of the device but Amazon.in page also reveals that the new smartphone will have a waterdrop notch. Moreover, you will be able to customize the notch as per your preference, thanks to a software feature. The smartphone is also entitled to release in three “futuristic” colors. The biggest reason to consider buying it will be a pocket-worthy price tag since LG has never been a company focusing on budget smartphones. We do not have an official release date yet but we can expect the first LG W series smartphone to launch by the end of this month in India.
