We have seen the leaks and rumors about the new Huawei P30 and the P30 Pro reaching heights in these past few weeks. The very first leak came from the phone case manufacturer Olixar that gave us a glimpse of the phone with its cases. The cases from Olixar revealed that the P30 Pro will be boasting a quad camera setup at the rear end– which is quite believable.
All the cameras stacked vertically, the design looks pretty much similar to the recent Samsung Galaxy A9 (2018). These smartphones will be successors to the last year’s Huawei P20 and Huawei P20 Pro that saw a huge appreciation around the globe. Just like the release of Huawei P20 and P20 Pro last year, the new P30 smartphones will also get a release in an event in March this year. Note that, a number of tech experts named Huawei P20 Pro the best Android smartphone of the world at the time of its release before it was overtaken by first Galaxy Note 9, then Google Pixel 3 series, and finally the current best android device Huawei’s own Mate 20 Pro.
The latest leak coming from another smartphone case manufacturer Spigen confirmed the design rumors to back up the news about the quad-cam setup at the rear end of upcoming Huawei P30 Pro. Spigen came with five different case leaks for both these devices. First, we have three different cases for P30 Pro and then two for the Huawei P30. According to the case maker, the fronts of both devices are similar, boasting a waterdrop-notch at the top with the bezel-less design.
Huawei P30, P30 Pro specifications (Expected)
The three different cases for the upcoming Huawei flagship P30 Pro from Spigen revealed that the phone will feature four vertically mounted camera lenses alongside dual-LED flash. We can say that the Huawei P30 Pro will have a big display with waterdrop notch at the top of the device. The imaging hardware of the quad camera setup will be periscope-style to support a lossless optical zoom. We are still to get any information about the four sensors, however, there have been previous reports claiming a 38-megapixel Sony IMX607 sensor with three-speed native sensitivity of ISO 50/500/5000 and Dual Bayer technology.
Not only P30 Pro but the Spigen cases also revealed that P30 will feature a triple camera setup. There has been information about a maximum of a 40-megapixel sensor with 5x lossless zoom support. We are also expecting a 24-megapixel selfie camera at the P30 front.
There have been previous leaks hinting a 6-inch display with waterdrop notch and thin bezels. Previously leaked renders spotted a 3.5mm headphone jack which is a surprise for everyone since last year’s P20 didn’t have it. A speaker grill right next to a USB Type-C port was also revealed in the render. There are other rumors about a Huawei HiSilicon Kirin 980 SoC powering both P30 and P30 Pro. News also came about an in-display fingerprint scanner and optical zoom support in both devices.
The wait will not be that long since the Chinese smartphone giant will release the P30 and P30 Pro at an event in Paris by the end of March 2019.
