Sometimes big companies do things without telling anyone. They launch products without promotions. Huawei has also pulled off something like that by silently launching P Smart+ (2019), which can be considered an upgraded version of this year’s previous launch Huawei P Smart (2019). The reason we can say that is because of a number of similarities found between the design and somewhat specifications. To name a few features of P Smart+ (2019) found in P Smart (2019) too, we have a 6.21-inch display with a dewdrop notch, Huawei’s Kirin 710 SoC, and a 3400mAh battery. However, when it comes to the difference, we are welcoming a triple camera setup at the rear end of P Smart+ (2019), which was a dual-camera setup on P Smart (2019).

The new Huawei P Smart+ (2019) can be seen listed on the company’s official website and it is likely to go on sale in the upcoming weeks all around the globe. While the smartphone features are already displayed, there is still not a word about the pricing of the device. However, given that the P Smart (2019) was priced at EUR 249 (translating roughly to Rs. 20,300) we can assume a slight increase.

Huawei P Smart+ (2019) Specifications

The biggest highlight capable of capturing eyes will be its camera. As mentioned above, the new Huawei P Smart+ (2019) sports a triple camera-setup at the back including a 24MP primary sensor, a 16MP sensor with ultra-wide angle lens, and a 2MP depth sensor. The imaging department also houses an 8MP front camera for selfies.

According to Huawei, the triple camera set up at the back has built-in AI capabilities. The Chinese smartphone manufacturer claimed that it can distinguish between 500+ scenes coming from 22 different categories in real-time. Just for the sake of comparison, P Smart (2019) featured a 13MP primary snapper with a 2MP depth sensor.

The front panel as mentioned earlier is a 6.21-inch FHD+ display with 2340×1080 pixels of resolution, 19.5:9 aspect ratio, and a dewdrop notch. Huawei is known for its own processing units and they have been quite impressive actually. This time, Huawei has given the command of P Smart+ (2019) to a capable HiSilicon Kirin 710 chipset. The chip houses an octa-core processor including four A73 cores and as many A53 cores. Coupled with a 3GB RAM, this whole setup is getting 64GB onboard memory from Huawei and an option to extend the storage up to 512GB using a microSD.

Measuring 155.2×73.4×7.95mm and weighing 160 grams, the smartphone runs Android 9 Pie out-of-the-box with Huawei’s EMUI 9 skin over it. The smartphone will be available in two colors including Starlight Blue and Midnight Black. It will also house a fingerprint scanner at the side of the camera unit.
