Remember the Huawei Nova series? The one known for its unique and catchy designs? Nova series from Huawei was released to aim younger generation with a strong focus on cameras, vibrant color options, and impressive hardware specifications. Since the last Nova devices including the high-end Nova 3 and the mid-range Nova 3i, Huawei has been busy capturing the mid-range and low-budget smartphone market with no clue about another Nova device whatsoever.

However, the smartphone manufacturer might have a surprise planned for the year-end. A promo poster of Nova 4 has surfaced internet revealing some attractive design options from the Chinese manufacturer.

Handsets touting unique designs are often appreciated by the younger generation, and that’s why Nova 4 has the ability to successfully appeal to the youth.

A teaser of Huawei Nova 4 has unfolded several things and we are ready to depict few predictions about the upcoming device.

Huawei Nova 4 Expected Design Changes

First and very easily visible design change coming in the new Huawei smartphone is a bigger screen-to-body ratio than its predecessor Huawei Nova 3. The reports are suggesting more than just an alteration in the screen size. A supposedly leaked picture of Huawei Nova 4 refuses to house a notch and features an in-display camera. With taking beautiful selfies, the front in-display camera will also create Animoji-like emojis.

However, the leaked picture houses only a small single camera cutout which means the new smartphone might not support the 3D-enabled facial recognition unless of course, the Huawei engineers have figured out a way to integrate everything from the camera sensor to other components under a single circle.

The evidence is still not enough to prove that Huawei will sport an in-screen camera. A user is holding a cased device has been captured and the in-screen camera is visible despite a poor image quality. The device is reportedly the new Huawei Nova 4 out for testing.

Huawei Nova 4 Expected Specifications

Huawei has already launched its latest Kirin 980 chip and the smartphone manufacturer with a history of using its own processor will probably use this 7nm FinFET chip for the device.

This will definitely convert the device into a power performer, thanks to the next-gen NPU support on Kirin 980. The device is expected to have an in-display fingerprint sensor, following the trend. Though Huawei, to keep it in-budget, can go for a rear end fingerprint-sensing solution too.

Huawei is known for hitting every budget segment lately and an improved camera and hardware can make it compete with the likes of the OnePlus 6T and the Asus Zenfone 5Z. Being a flagship device, Nova 4 will go with Android 9 Pie out-of-the-box.

Huawei Nova 4 Launch Date

Huawei has not announced an official launch date for the device. However, looking at the company’s pattern of previous launches, we can expect the device to compete in the market by the end of December 2018. Notably, Nova 2S was launched in December last year, that followed a reception of Nova 3 series in July this year.
