It looks like the Chinese smartphone manufacturer has stepped into the new year with lots of new plans. Just after announcing the release date of Honor View 20 at CES 2019, the company has announced a 2019 version of Huawei Y9 smartphone in India. The company is offering Boat Rockers Sport Bluetooth headphones worth Rs 2,990 bundled along with the new device. Huawei will be selling the new Y9 exclusively on at price 15,990. While the Indian tech market is getting ready for a new Innings, Huawei is ready to serve first with AI-enabled dual front and rear camera. Let’s analyze how the 6.5-inch will perform in the Indian market.

Huawei Launches Y9

The crisp display will be the first thing to capture your eyes as a smartphone admirer. Sporting a 6.5-inch FullView FHD+ panel with 19.5:9 aspect ratio and 1080×2340 pixel resolution. With vivid and crisp colors, the display performs quite well for multimedia consumption, even in the daylight. Don’t expect a flagship level display, but the brightness levels will satisfy you to a wide extent.

Huawei Launches Y9 2019 in India: Here’s what it offers Kirin 710

With a new processor at the desk Kirin 710, Huawei is directly challenging Snapdragon 710. The octa-core processor from Huawei is built with 12nm process whereas Qualcomm’s Snapdragon is a 10nm technology. Along with Kirin 710, the device is powered by 4GB RAM as well as a 64GB internal memory stick. Kirin 710 is perfect to guide you in day-to-day tasks. The CPU is capable of performing well on high-end games too and we are sure that it will be offering stutter-free multitasking to users too.

Big Battery

One of the most impressive things about the device is its battery. Despite measuring 162.4 x 77.1 x 8.1 mm, the Huawei Y9 offers a big battery with 4000mAh juice. In addition, the power on the device is doubled when optimized with AI software. The device easily passes one day on moderate usage. However, a heavy gamer might have to give it a charge before going to bed.

The only drawback, in our opinion, will be its old smartphone software. The Huawei Y9 (2019) runs on Android 8.0 Oreo. We are not saying that it’s a bad option. Not at all. But when everyone is either giving Android 9 Pie update or releasing smartphones with the new Android version, then Android 8.0 Oreo might come as a setback for Huawei. Though, there are really no flaws in Android 8.0, with time it can be sluggish to use.
