While Google and Huawei are going back and forth at each other, the Chinese manufacturer is still trying to stay in the market with its sub-brand Honor. The Huawei-owned subsidiary launched the Honor 20 series globally including Honor 20 Lite, Honor 20, and Honor 20 Pro. The three devices compete in the budget flagship segment with flagship level Sony IMX586 48MP sensor, 7nm chipsets, and big battery life. Let’s roll down to the specifications of what looks a premium smartphone series.
Honor 20 Pro Specifications and Price
The best smartphone of the lineup, Honor 20 Pro, features a 6.26-inch Full HD+ display with 19.5:9 aspect ratio and 92.7 percent screen-to-body ratio. Power-driven by the HiSilicon Kirin 980 SoC, the smartphone features 8GB RAM and 256GB internal storage with this 7nm tech-based chipset. Honor claims to feature a graphene sheet cooling technology in the device for long hours of gaming sessions without the smartphone getting heated. The display of the device sports dual-curved edges alongside a side-mounted fingerprint sensor.
The quad-camera setup at the rear end of the device can be called the biggest highlight of the smartphone. It features a 48MP Sony IMX586 sensor with f/1.4 aperture coupled with a 16MP ultra-wide lens with f/2.2 aperture, an 8MP telephoto lens with f/2.4 aperture and four-axis optical stabilization, and finally a 2MP lens with f/2.4 aperture for macro details. There’s a separate laser autofocus unit with an LED flash on the device, which also offers 3x optical, 5x hybrid and 30x digital zoom. The front of the smartphone features a 32MP selfie snapper incorporated in a punch hole design on the screen.
The smartphone gets juice from a 4000 mAh battery that comes alongside 22.5W charging adapter that the Chinese smartphone manufacturer claims to charge the device from nil to 50 percent within 30 minutes. Running the latest Android 9.0 Pie, the smartphone is priced at €599 that roughly translates to Rs 46,500.
Honor 20 Specifications and Price
The Honor 20 is pretty much derived from the Pro variant with similar SoC onboard but with a smaller RAM of 6GB and smaller inbuilt storage of 128GB. While this also features a quad-cam setup at the rear end, the only change comes as a 2MP depth sensor instead of the 8MP telephoto lens. The smartphone offers similar display as well as the front selfie shooter but gives a slightly lesser juice with a 3,750mAh battery with a similar charging unit. Honor 20 will be sold at €499 that approx. means Rs 39,000.
Honor 20 Lite Specifications and Price
This one can be called the base or standard model of the series with an old Kirin 710 SoC chipset coupled with 4GB RAM and 128GB storage. The display is also slightly smaller at 6.21-inch but comes with similar 32MP selfie snapper in a punch-hole design. The rear end of the smartphone features a triple-camera setup including a 24MP primary sensor, an 8MP secondary sensor, and a 2 MP depth sensor. The Honor 20 Lite sports a 3,400mAh battery but there is no mention of fast-charging tech in this one from the company. Being the cheapest among the three, the Honor 20 lite comes at €299 which means around Rs 23,000.
Honor 20 Series Availability in India
The smartphones were released in Europe as well as other global markets but there are no words for an Indian launch yet. However, looking at the competition coming from OnePlus 7 and 7 Pro, we expect Honor to launch the Honor 20 series in India soon.
