Fortnite: Battle Royale is now available for everyone on Android for free. It has been available on the platform from quite a while now but it was not freely available for everyone. However, it changed yesterday when Epic released the game on a Google-powered operating system without the need of an invite. The beta version was previously open with an invite-only play but as of today, you can download it to any [not really to any] android device for free. Unlike other android games, you cannot download the Epic game from Google Play Store but instead from their official site.

Though Epic announced the game available for any android device, the company also attached recommended system specs for an optimal gaming experience. We can easily assume that a game that big is not going to fit everyone’s bill.

Here are the Fortnite system requirements recommended by Epic for a smoother gameplay:

  • OS: Recommended Android 8.0 Oreo or higher in 64 bit
  • RAM: 4GB or higher space
  • GPU: Adreno 530 or higher, Mali-G72 MP12, Mali-G71 MP20, or higher

The game has already been a hit on iOS and Epic has been looking to capture the big market of android from quite a while but ultimately ended up plugging their own site.

“It’s a high cost in a world where game developers’ 70 percent must cover all the cost of developing, operating, and supporting their games,” Epic told GameSpot when inquired about why the game is not available on Google Play Store. “And it’s disproportionate to the cost of the services these stores perform, such as payment processing, download bandwidth, and customer service.”

The studio will now keep more profits of the game by offering direct downloads. However, there will be risks of security issues. Keeping a known and trusted app store away also raises the risk of unethical activities such as sites will confuse potential android players. There have been dubious apps taking rounds of the internet claiming to offer V-bucks for free or offering uneffective cheats while phishing on users.

Being in the middle of Season 6 the Darkness Rises, Fortnite has released a ton of spooky cosmetic items justifying the title. More Halloween covers and skins are also lined up for the upcoming holiday season in Fortnite Season 6. Here’s how to download fortnite for android- just visit this page and scan the QR code to download directly from their site.

To round it up, you cannot argue what kind of game Fortnite: Battle Royale is but there will be security issues at first since it is not available on Google Play Store. Secondly, the game is already dominating the console world. Even after the launch of Call Of Duty: Black Ops 4 tomorrow, it will hard to get Fortnite down from the leadership. Now that the game is also available on Android, let’s see what height it reaches.
