The whole world is fighting with Covid-19. The virus which was started from China has now spread in every part of the world. The situation in many countries is very horrible, e.g., the USA, Italy, Spain, U.K, etc. To break the chain of Corona Virus, many countries, including India, have applied Lock-Down in their respective countries. Due to lockdown, Offices, Schools, Malls, Restaurants had been temporarily closed. Most of the people are working from home, but there is a problem as to how to attend the meetings, conferences, or client calls. Then suddenly, apps like Zoom gain more popularity as everyone starts to use this app for their use. As per a report from Zoom, there is a 50% increase of Zoom users in the mid of April in comparison to starting the month.
Zoom app is using by many companies, and even the Online classes of schools are also conducted through Zoom. So the Zoom app gave a very tough competition to the old players of the social world Facebook & WhatsApp. But as in India, the government has already issued a security warning for the Zoom app as it may steal the vital information of the users. Hence the people are looking for any better option.
Facebook has come for the rescue for its users as Facebook has recently released a new video conference feature and named it as “Messenger Rooms.” The best part of this feature is that 50 people can be added at a time in a video call, plus there would be no time capping.
The new feature of Messenger Room will give the option to their users to create any private or public chat room as per their convenience. The user can create a chat room with no time limit and can add up to 50 people at a time. But in the Zoom app, the participants can be added up to 100, but the time limit is only 40 minutes.
There is another good thing about this feature that the participants who are not having an account can also join the video calls with the help of a link in the messenger room. But there is a concern that the video calls from Messenger Room might not be protected with end-to-end encryption. Still, as per Facebook, the security is so extensively, and it is better than any other app like Zoom.
How Can these Facebook Messenger Rooms be Used?
Facebook has released a new feature for video calling, but currently, it might not be available in your area, but you can expect that it can be available very soon.
