The e-commerce leader Amazon has announced Alexa Conversations which reportedly is a deep-learning approach directed for natural voice experience on Alexa. Developers will be offered this toolset to create natural dialogs with the shortest of code lines as well as less training data on Alexa.
Developers will offer API access to their functionality of skills to use Conversation, which will be dialog samples that will allow Alexa to convey things to customers and the actions expected from customers. The Conversation AI inside Alexa will finish the job by generation dialog flows and variations through the given data.
Amazon Intros ML and DL Concepts For Multiple Tasks
Alexa’s vice president and head scientist, Rahul Prasad here on Wednesday at Amazon’s re MARS conference in Las Vegas said, “It’s way easier to build a complex voice experience with Alexa Conversations due to its underlying deep-learning-based dialog modeling.”
Prasad not only revealed the deep-learning-based voice alterations in Alexa but also unveiled some Machine Learning-based concept to let developers build skills for Alexa that will complete multiple tasks through a single conversation. Note that currently Alexa can only handle one request at a time which restricts users from giving Alexa multiple tasks at once and it ends up with a number of complex tasks to the digital assistant. The yet-to-be-released multi-task skill set experience will bank on Amazon’s in-house AI modules that are programmed to generate a response to user queries and request through a long single conversation.
According to Prasad, this approach is entirely different from the current dialogue system as now Alexa will take spoken text as the input and will perform an action as its output. The upcoming action prediction will depend on a machine-learning conversational system that will process the entire dialogue history while giving a response.
Prasad said, “With this new approach, Alexa will predict a customer’s latent goal from the direction of the dialog and proactively enable the conversation flow across topics and skills.” “This is a big leap for conversational AI. Our objective is to shift the cognitive burden from the customer to Alexa,” he added further.
The new multi-skill system will be released in a few months according to the e-commerce giant and will solely centralize on the dinner-and-a-movie use case. Regardless, Prasad also mentioned that additional machine learning advances have already improved Alexa’s accuracy by 20% in the last 12 months.
